My altered art pursuit began a year ago as a way to cope with the lopsided class I had of 19 boys and 6 girls. I'm a teacher by day and an artist by night. It is a nice balance that keeps me sane.
Last November, I discovered a gigantic box of keepsakes including family/ancestor photos, antique brooches and WWI love letters. Instead of throwing out the collection as was suggested by my dad, I began collaging the artifacts into altered journals. Family and friends received books for Christmas presents.
Today I have branched out to include vintage pin-up lines such as Bettie Page. I also have journals that feature Audrey Hepburn.
I am a newbie to Etsy, having joined just a couple of months ago. I look forward to a creative future on this site.
