Cotton Hills Creations
My teenage sitter taught me how to knit when I was 8 years old and I've been unable to put down the needles ever since. I enjoy knitting and crocheting just about anything, including afghans, scarves, shawls, socks and sweaters, but I love to make hats most of all.
I like to challenge myself and try to reproduce hats I like from movies or tv from memory. Being a huge Star Trek fan and a fan of Simon Pegg, I recreated the great slouchy hat inspired by the hat Simon wore as Scotty the day I went to the movie.
I rarely knit with a pattern and love to create original designs like animal hats. My solid black Persian and Tortie Persian cats have inspired some of my kitty hat designs, and my fox hat design is in honor of the beautiful fox that lives in my area. And who doesn't love a fuzzy wuzzy alpaca teddy bear hat?
I also knit for charity and make a yearly donation of lap blankets to the DAV and hats and scarves to the children of Operation Breakthrough.
