"Promote Your Sh*t Already!!!"
So why this crazy rant? I'm sick, sick, sick, of hearing people complain; I have no sales, why do I have no sales, no sales help me, why doesn't someone on the site promote us, nothing is selling, is my stuff not good, etc. etc., etc.
Hello, this is your wake up call and I'm not going to sugarcoat this one. People you need to get off your own a$$ and promote!!!
Now I don't expect anyone to go as crazy with the promotion/marketing as I do. I've been doing this for almost 11 years and I cannot slow down now. I want to have my jewelry in Nordstroms before I die!! LOL
Anyway, here is my list of things I advertise and network my sites with;

You go,girl! :-)
I'm new to all of this. I AM promoting(my ad is on your blog) and still no sales. I'm not complaining about it in the forums or on my blog though. I figure I can only get back what I put in so I will keep trying. But it seems to me that promoting isn't a wonder pill...it doesn't always work. At least not right away,lol.
Thanks for the links, I will check them out!
Great post!! Thanks for all the information.
Ya, my stuff isn't selling much either, but i'm not sitting on the forums complaining about it. I mean, ya, having no sales makes you wonder whether your stuff is good enough to sell - and can be disheartening at times. But you can't just put stuff up and expect it to fly off the internet shelves while you're sitting on your ass. Promotion is the key.
That's why i write a blog, got involved with twitter, have a facebook fan page, started posting on forums, dabble in etsy chat, started having giveaways and am featuring other etsy artisans - i've learned that by featuring others, you're opening yourself up to a whole other fan base that may not have noticed you to begin with!
I've been going hard core promoting my shop for the last 2 weeks, and ya, still no new sales, but my fan base/followers/hearts and views have increased enormously.
If this is your passion, you should never give up, right? right!!
Again, great post! Thanks for all the tips! :)

Thanks guys for the comments! I only get mad when people are given so many opportunities to promote and they don't take advantage of them:( I'm super involved with promoting the entire artist community so I'm very happy to help anyone out. And yes, promotion doesn't always work right away, if at all. Sometimes it's just the wrong time of year, item, or buyer.

Thanks for all the great information. I agree you have to put the work in to get results. I am new to Etsy and online selling so I am trying to learn all I can. Thanks for the pointers.

ITA- I don't complain about no sales, but promoting gets disheartening when I feel like I DO DO DO and still get few results.
