FeltmeupdesignsI am a UK based printmaker, artist, felt maker and fiber artist based in Scarborough, UK. I make wedding cake toppers, creatures, bags, purses, embroidered felt art works, felt sculptures. I've been creating things as long as I can remember, My gran taugh me to knit when I was 5 and my dad taught me to draw, he's an architect so my first pens we graphics pens! My mum makes bears and I led a kind of nomadic childhood living at craftfairs, so I guess art and craft is in my blood!
I studied textile design at Loughborough University and specialised as an embroiderer but I became addicted to felt making after several years of flirting with it on various courses and even teaching a couple of sessions on felt to my students when I taught in Dewsbury.
Eventually the call of the felt became too much and I took up a little community course for fun where I met some of my best friends. I fell in love with felting almost as soon as i finished my first tiny little sample. Now I have 3 huge chests full of fiber and two massive storage boxes!
I recently opened a shop to sell my artwork, Inkmeup, it's been good fun and is a totally different process to felting. It's still in it's first few weeks but Inkmeup is getting better every day!
